Step back in time at The Station, a beautifully restored former railway station perched above the stunning North Yorkshire coast.
Once serving the villages of Sandsend and Lythe for over 75 years, Sandsend Railway Station was a familiar stop for generations of seaside travellers. Today, this historic building has been thoughtfully transformed into a distinctive holiday home that preserves its railway heritage while offering modern comfort.
Set across one level, the semi-detached station house accommodates up to six guests in three stylish bedrooms. Careful restoration has retained original features, including the station platform and clock, giving guests a genuine sense of the building’s past.
Inside, you’ll find spacious, contemporary living areas designed for relaxed coastal stays. Outside, the setting is equally impressive, with sweeping views across the coast towards Whitby, whilst relaxing in the hot tub located on the former station's platform.

Lounge: A well portioned room boosting original character with high ceilings and arched windows. Feature fireplace, 2 luxury sofas and a winged chair. A large Smart TV with Freeview. Wooden coffee table and standard lamp. The perfect room from your party to relax after a day at the beach.
Bedroom 1: A well-presented King size bed, bedside tables, tall chest of drawers and wall mounted TV.
Bedroom 2: A spacious Twin room bedside tables, chest of drawers, wardrobe, large mirror. Stunning panoramic views of Sandsend towards Whitby.
Bedroom 3: Double bed, bedside tables, wardrobe, console table& table, large mirror. Stunning panoramic views of Sandsend towards Whitby.
Shower Room: Comprising of a large walk-in shower, wash basin, toilet and vintage style heated towel rail.
Family Bathroom: Comprising of a Bath, large rainfall shower over bath, toilet, washbasin.
Cloak room: Toilet with washbasin.
Garden: Garden at the rear of the property, Platform and patio area, shared steps or a gentle slope leading down in to enclosed garden. Picnic bench and seating on the platform alongside the Hot Tub, with stunning panoramic views.

TV: Please note due to the unique location of the cottages, on occasion a terrestrial signal with any consistency may be intermittent and in some cases, not at all.
In all Mulgrave Estate holiday cottages you will find smart TVs and we would ask that you utilise the likes of BBC iPlayer to watch both live TV and of course, to access catch up.
A Little Bit Of History
For 75 years it served the pretty North Yorkshire coastal villages of Sandsend and Lythe, taking locals on their way, serving industry and bringing visitors to the coast.
Down the years thousands of visitors stepped onto Sandsend railway station’s platform for the first stage of their holiday by the sea.
